Three Steps to Choosing a College Station Dentist:

You may be new to the College Station area, currently “between dentists,” or ready to begin the process of selecting a dentist after not having had time to do so earlier. If so, there are a number of important factors to take into account in making your decision, and considering the importance of your oral health, it is well worthwhile to develop a strategy for choosing a dentist that’s right for you.

  1. Create a list of options: Search online for dentists with offices near where you live or work, get recommendations from neighbors, friends, and coworkers, or get a referral from your physician. You can also contact the American Dental Association or a local Texas dental association for assistance.
  2. Narrow it down to a short list: Research each prospect to see what they have to offer. Are all services you are likely to need within the dentist’s field of expertise? Are the most modern methods and most advanced equipment available? For example, can you get same day crowns, Invisalign invisible braces, and professional teeth whitening? Much of this type of information will be found on the dentist’s website.
  3. Bring a questionnaire to the consultation and ask away: Visit at least some of the dentists on your short list to experience their customer service and see if you are comfortable in their office. Bring a list of specific questions, for example what dental insurance is accepted, whether the dentist engages in any continuing education, and how far ahead you need to schedule appointments.
